Easter Egg Hunt

Scot Henney invites everyone interested in the rhododendron garden at Whonnock Lake Centre to join him and other volunteers in the garden on Saturday April 14 and April 28th from 9:30 to 12:30 to do some work and explore the way forward for the Rhododendron garden now that the Fraser Valley Rhododendron Society does no longer exist. Also this year the dinner offered by the Whonnock Community Association to recognize volunteering in Whonnock, Ruskin and Thornhill was a great success! The photo shows Betty and Klaus von Hardenberg who received the Volunteer of the Year award for 2012 for their tireless community work.

Talking about OBASAN
Neighbour met neighbour on the evening of 29 March at Whonnock Lake Centre for very successful discussions about the book they all read: Obasan. They also reflected on the fate of Japanese residents of Whonnock and Ruskin in the years of the Second World War.
Jean Davidson and Sue Adair should be proud of their accomplishment of initiating the One Book Whonnock program and making it such a success.
